City Conservative leader Councillor Wendy Thompson said that the money was proof that claims of the region being left behind were false.
"We often hear from the Labour Party that areas like Wolverhampton have been hammered by this government, but this is yet another example of where extra government funding is made available for creating long-term business growth and the jobs that come with it."
