CONSERVATIVES BACK FIGHT TO KEEP PUB

Thursday, 28 May, 2015

Local Conservative Councillor for Tettenhall Regis Ward Barry Findlay has given his backing to local campaigners who are fighting to keep their local pub, The Claregate. A consultation meeting is to be held at Christ the King Church, Pendeford Avenue on Wednesday 10th June between 12pm and 2pm. At a recent Tettenhall District Community Council meeting which Councillor Barry Findlay attended, the meeting gave its support to save The Claregate.

The eighty-year-old pub, frequented by Wolves legend Billy Wright when he lived in the area, is the subject of a consultation exercise by owners Marstons. Residents have expressed fears that it may be sold off for housing development.
